Online College & Trade School Investigation

Students of several online colleges, career colleges and trade schools have contacted our law firm to complain about the deceptive tactics and misrepresentations used by enrollment and admissions personnel. Current and former students have complained that they:

  • Were misled about the cost of tuition
  • Were misled about student loans and financial aid
  • Are unable to transfer credits to other schools
  • Were promised job placement and can't find a job
  • Can't get other colleges to recognize their degree
  • Received loans with high and undisclosed interest rates
  • Received loans for which they never signed up
  • These schools are commonly referred to as career schools, trade schools, for-profit schools, and online colleges. The most common programs offered by these institutions are fashion design, graphic design, game art design, interior design, criminal justice, business, health care, and the culinary arts.

This trade school scam has been around for some time and is finally getting the attention it deserves. Many schools have been accused and held accountable for deceptive advertising, steering students into high interest rate student loans, and even making false representations to the federal government to secure federal financial aid.

Many former employees have already contacted us and are an invaluable resource for exposing deceptive and unfair trade practices, and helping to bring changes for the victimized students. If you were an employee of an online school or trade school, please contact us using the form below.

If you believe that you are the victim of a trade school fraud or had a positive trade school experience, please tell us your story using the form below.
