Newsday.com - A Westbury debt-collection company is facing a multimillion-dollar lawsuit filed by a Florida woman who has accused the business of dunning her for a magazine-subscription amount she didn't owe. Her lawyer is seeking class-action certification for the lawsuit against North Shore Agency Inc., litigation that could potentially involve hundreds of plaintiffs nationwide, including from this area. Class Action Lawsuit filed against North Shore Agency - Press Release

We are investigating complaints that consumers who chose not to renew certain magazine subscriptions received threatening letters from North Shore Agency Inc. The letters hint that futher action will be taken unless the consumer pays for a subscription renewal that he or she has putatitively ordered, even though the consumer really doesn't want the renewal.
