Jessica Hoyer joined James, Hoyer, Newcomer, Smiljanich & Yanchunis in 2009. She is an associate in the False Claims (qui tam) division. Prior to law school, Jessica spent summers clerking with the firm.

In law school, Jessica focused her attention on the practice of international law and spent one summer studying international business law and white collar crime in Montpellier, France. Following that, she interned at the Public Defender’s Office, Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Tampa, and researching at the Law Offices of Gilbert A. Schaffnit in Gainesville, Fla.

At the University of Florida, Jessica received her undergraduate degrees in Criminology (B.A., 2006) and Psychology (B.S., 2006), and her law degree with honors (J.D., 2009). She was actively involved in the Criminal Law Society and the International Law Society. In her leisure time, Jessica enjoys traveling and athletics. She lives in Tampa.
