Experience: Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1995, Mr. Meyer became an associate with the law firm of Earle and Earle, beginning his training with Richard T. Earle, Jr. In 1998, Mr. Meyer worked briefly with the Attorney General’s Office for the State of Florida in the Bureau of Criminal Appeals, and thereafter began working as a senior staff attorney for the Florida Second District Court of Appeal. Mr. Meyer also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Chris W. Altenbernd while employed at the Second District. After serving as a law clerk, Mr. Meyer worked with the prominent Florida defense firm, Carlton Fields PA. Mr. Meyer became a partner at that firm in February 2003. In addition to being admitted to practice in the state courts of Florida, Mr. Meyer is also admitted to practice in the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Meyer is active in the American Bar Association, currently serving as newsletter coeditor for the Section of Litigation’s Corporate Counsel Committee. Mr. Meyer is also active with the Florida Bar, currently acting as the chair of the Florida Bar’s UPL Committee for the Sixth Judicial Circuit. Mr. Meyer is dedicated to pro bono service, having been awarded the Community Law Program’s Newcomer Award in 1998 and the Carlton Fields’ William Reece Smith, Jr. Pro Bono Award in 2001. Mr. Meyer has also served as a special assistant pubic defender on a pro bono basis in both the trial and appellate courts of Florida.
