Position: Associate

Aaron Mayer joined James, Hoyer, Newcomer, Smiljanich & Yanchunis in August 2009. His practice focuses on consumer class actions and complex litigation. Aaron came to the practice of law as his second career, having first developed land around Raleigh, North Carolina for several years.

Working through his third year of law school, Aaron defended medical malpractice claims at the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs in Winston Salem, North Carolina. In 2008, he clerked with the class action firm of Richardson, Patrick, Westbrook & Brickman in Charleston, South Carolina. In 2007, he clerked with Diepenbrock Harrison in Sacramento, California. Aaron’s trial experience includes dozens of bench trials and several jury trials.

Aaron graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (B.A., 1999) and Wake Forest University School of Law (J.D., 2009). He served on the Wake Forest trial team, the Intellectual Property Law Journal, the Honor Council and as a teaching assistant. Aaron and his wife live in Tampa.
